The Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021. A senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Offences The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
